Summer/Fall 2010

Hello Friends! We wanted to take the time to update you all about where we are in our process of candidating and ministry, and let you know how you can help/be praying for us.  As most of you know, Alex graduated this past May with his MDiv degree from Covenant Seminary.  Towards the end of May we began candidating with a church up in Green Bay, WI for an associate pastor's position. We continued to interview all through the summer, and eventually took a trip up to Green Bay at the end of August to meet with the church leadership. It got down to Alex and one other candidate, and in the end the church felt that Alex was too similar to the head pastor, and they needed someone who was more of a complement. That being said, we felt that the process was a really affirming experience for us, and we came out of it disappointed but content that God has other plans for us.  In the meantime, I (Holly) am still working on staff with the Youth Ministry at the Kirk, as well as taking some of the last few classes I have to finish my degree at Covenant, and Alex is working full time at Sprint. 

How You Can Help

Some of you may know that there are very few pastoral positions opening up at the moment, due to the recession.  We would greatly appreciate it if y'all could do two things for us: 1. Pray for us. It's a very hard 'in between' time for us at the moment, and waiting on God's timing is often difficult. Please pray that God will bless the ministry we do now as well as lead us towards the ministry he has planned for us, and pray that we will stay motivated and not lose heart in this stretching time. 2. If you hear of any openings, PLEASE let us know. Oftentimes the best jobs are those not posted on the PCA's ministry opportunities page. Know that if you've received this newsletter, it's because we love and trust you as part of our family in Christ, and we really appreciate your support.
